Aimee Grundell is the founder, creative director and production director of AG Studios. This company is comprised of a team of artists, engineers, programmers, printers and designers- making it a very diverse team of people to work with. As this company is so varied in its skills, they work on anything and everything the design world has to offer, including but not limited to: interiors, exhibitions, large format print, set & stage design, signage and furniture.

One of Aimee's first freelancing jobs was 'Grandma's House' in Munroe House, Leeds. This installation was designed to make people feel more at home to relax in. The design was inspired by 1960's interior with CNC cut photo frames which could be swapped out and designed by whoever was in the room. Another project Aimee has worked on was a 3D installation called the 'Bulb Checker 3000 Machine'. This wild and wonderful set installation which was programmed to do all kinds of things on camera.

Other projects include:

  • Queens of Industry- an exhibition celebrating women in design and industry.

  • Pit Sense- an exhibition in Doncaster about coal mining, done in collaboration with the community, using materials from the time.

  • Yorkshire Water Touring Escape Room- a set design set in 2 shipping containers comprising of a kitchen and a bathroom.

  • Jet2 Holidays Easter Campaign- mini set designs including chocolate eggs which was a small competition to see how long the eggs would take to melt. Whoever guessed correctly won a prize.

  • Leeds Industrial Museum Gig- as LIM didn't get many visitors, this even was created in order to increase visitor numbers. The gig was successful as people who many not normally visit LIM did go and see some of the installations due to the music DJ who was there.

  • Coin operated zoetrope- Aimee design the zoetrope to be operated by paying 20p to see the animations through the peep hole.
