Animal lover. Avid concert-goer. Illustrator.
The three terms I'd use to sum myself up. Its all I've ever known. Loving animals, going to concerts and illustrating. I'm also really into fantasy and dark things, I love anything supernatural and that comes through a lot in my work.
I can't believe I'm in my final year of university, its really quite scary knowing that there's a big wide world out there ready for me to explore. But over the following year, I want to expand my skills and knowledge to the best of my abilities- I want to really delve into my illustration skills, but I also want to develop my skills that lie elsewhere. I used to be really passionate about branding in high school, so maybe I can explore those skills again.
My aim for the future is to work for myself. Doing what, I'm not entirely sure yet. I've juggled the ideas of being a freelance illustrator or having my own dog training and walking business, I just can't resist those puppy dog eyes! If art and design is the route I go down in the future, I'd like to have my own small company that creates inclusive visual novels. As I've played visual novels myself, I think they're a really fun way to get people to read and consciously think about the choices they make. Inclusivity is a big thing for me, I'm really passionate about people feeling included in a safe space. I also want to work to make my character designs more diverse.
Although illustration is my comfort zone, I hope I can explore more mediums- I have dabbled in photography and acrylic painting a few times, and I'd like to be able to use these in my work. Over the course of the year, I will be blogging about my experiences, my work, places I've visited and everything and anything that has inspired me throughout the year.
Here's to the start of another year.
