Steve and Stephanie are both landscape and architecture photographers, who have been involved in teaching and have both had their own businesses. Some of their more well known works include photographs of the newly built Anfield and Goodison football grounds for Liverpool and Everton. They were also commissioned to photograph Liverpool One upon its completion.

While the majority of their works are of completed buildings, they have also been asked to photograph the building processes of architectural structures; stating that if you made a good relationship with the client, they would likely ask you to do more projects.

The pair mentioned how important it was to create a list of contacts. They compiled a list of contacts they could use and contacted them in order to find more work- the positive seeking out of people allowed them to increase their client base and therefore increase their workload and portfolio pieces. They noted that it was important to find the right people, rather than just send a link to your website or social medias, where you could find the right work.

Parallel to the architectural commissions they were used to, Steve and Stephanie were commissioned by Countryside Agency, they had multiple contracts with this company over a period of 8 years. Landscape photography was the main aim of this commission where they photographed the Pennine Trail and other various countryside landscapes. However, the company changed their name and merged with other companies over time, which meant that they lost some of their client base. This in turn meant that Steve and Stephanie also lost some of their workload and clients.

Stephanie noted that our creative work was important, but the most important thing was the relationships and their maintenance with the clients and people you work with. Negotiation and team work is so important in these fields of work for people to be successful. She also mentioned that within your portfolio, its important to have a variation of commissioned work, but also work that you have done for yourself.
